Hwylus Cyf was successful in a recent tender to provide a range of specialist services to Menter Mon to support Community Led Local Development in Gwynedd and Anglesey. “We are delighted to be part of the framework and look forward to supporting communities to develop their own futures,” announced Helen Howells, Director of Hwylus Cyf.
Helen Howells has a strong background in rural development, having played a key role in the designation of the first Biosphere in Wales in the Dyfi valley, and developing the Cambrian Mountains Initiative working with the Prince’s Charities in Wales. Helen has worked with a range of community groups over the years, including commoners, farmers, fishermen and local history groups. Helen specialises in projects that bring all different actors within a community together to build on key strengths and develop collaborative ways of working that benefit local people, local businesses and the local environment.
LEADER is the mechanism to deliver community led rural development in Wales as part of the Rural Communities Programme funded by the European Union and Welsh Government. Menter Mon is the lead delivery body for LEADER in Gwynedd and Anglesey.
